Omenka is a leading art gallery in Nigeria and represents a fine selection of established and emerging contemporary Nigerian and international artists working in diverse media. In association with Revilo, Omenka has an active publications programme and produces exquisite catalogues with informed, scholarly texts to accompany its schedule of solo, group and large themed exhibitions, through which it stimulates critical thought and discourse centered on contemporary art development in Nigeria, as well as Africa and its diaspora.

With a particular focus on ensuring sustainable presence for Nigerian and African art within a larger global context, Omenka participates in major art events like the The Armory Show, New York, Art Dubai, UAE, the Joburg Art Fair, Cape Town Art Fair, Docks Art Fair, Lyon , LOOP, Barcelona, Cologne Paper Art, Art14, and 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair, both in London.

Additionally, Omenka encourages a cross fertilization of ideas by collaborating with leading galleries across the world to bring the work of many international artists like Cedric Nunn, Owusu-Ankomah, Ransome Stanley, Godfried Donkor, Manuela Sambo, and El Loko to Nigeria, often for the first time. In conjunction with The Ben Enwonwu Foundation, established to preserve and build on the life of celebrated Nigerian artist, Professor Ben Enwonwu MBE, NNOM (1917-94), Omenka Gallery organizes several workshops and residencies to encourage curatorial and professional artistic development.

The gallery is located within Enwonwu’s home in Lagos, which lends to its historical and cultural significance. It consists of an exhibition area and a second space, housing one of the finest collections of the artist’s works.
